More electric cars now entitled to one off £1,500 discount in the UK – full list | UK | News

Thirteen more electric car models are suitable for new government grants.
The Ministry of Transport (DFT) said that drivers could save £ 1,500 by purchasing certain Nissan, Renault and Vauxhall models.
The discount will be applied automatically at the sales point.
This comes after the four Citroen cars were announced as the first model on Tuesday.
Since the applications of the producers are evaluated according to sustainability standards, more models are expected to be approved in the coming weeks.
The new £ 650 million electric car grant program provides drivers of purchasing new electric cars that cost 37,000 £ to save $ 1,500 or £ 3750, depending on the green identity information of the vehicles.
All models described so far are suitable for £ 1,500 grants.
Transportation Secretary Heidi Alexander said: “Only 17 car models announced this week with discounts, we are fulfilling our promise to facilitate the electricity of families.
“This is about supporting drivers, going back to people’s pockets, and creating the business and growth that will take England forward.”
DFT has previously stated that many drivers have specified open costs as a “key obstacle” to buy a house and will reduce grant prices, so they will “match the gasoline and diesel colleagues more closely”.
Rac Policy President Simon Williams said: “Another wave of car that is entitled to the government’s renewed electric car grant is a more pleasant news.
“It is also positive to see other manufacturers who reduce the prices of other manufacturers who do not meet the green production targets of the grant.
“Those who want to switch now have the option of better valuable vehicles than ever. This can only help accelerate the transition to electric vehicles.”
Online Tool Marketplace Auto Trader said that he has been interested in electric cars since the announcement of the grant and is interested in some brands.
Nissan Motor GB General Manager James Taylor said that the announcement that his models would be appropriate was an exciting step in the UK’s electrification journey “.
Steve Catlin, Vauxhall, said the manufacturer was “determined to excite England for years”.
Under the government’s zero emission vehicle (ZEV) authority, at least 28% of new cars sold by every manufacturer in the UK this year should be zero emissions, which often means pure electricity.
In all manufacturers, the figure in the first half of the year was 21.6%.
The Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit Head of Transportation in the Thought Tank, Colin Walker warned that the impact of the electric car grant program can “weaken” with recent changes in pleasure authority, which means that producers who do not meet the goals will be easier to avoid fines.
Authority, this “lowering home sales” risk, he added.
The government has promised to prohibit the sale of newly gasoline and diesel cars and minibuses from 2030 onwards.
