Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (October 8, 2025) said the Congress should tell the country that it has blocked India’s military response after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.

“A Congress leader, who is the Union home minister, said that a country prevented India’s military retaliation after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack in 2008. The party should clarify,” PM Modi said.

He was addressing a public meeting after inaugurating the first phase of the Navi Mumbai International Airport near Mumbai.

“This weakness of the Congress has strengthened the terrorists,” Modi said. He added that the nation has the right to know who prevented India from proceeding with military retaliation after the Mumbai terror attack.

Referring to Operation Sindoor launched after the Pahalgam terror attack, Modi said, “Nothing is more important to us than the safety and security of our nation and citizens.”

Modi said his government’s target is to make India the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) hub of global aviation by the end of this decade.

Due to Udan (Ude desh ka aam naagrik) Yojana, lakhs of people went to the sky and fulfilled their dreams for the first time in the last decade.

In 2014, there were only 74 airports in India, but now there are more than 160.

Viksit Bharat’s vision envisages ‘Gati Aur Pragati’ (momentum and progress), Modi said.
