Just when you thought the dust had settled in Montecito, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle managed to get things back on their feet. The Sussexes have been caught in a confusing back-and-forth over the current status of the Netflix deal.
After the publisher withdrew its financial backing from Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever, rumors began to circulate that insiders were less than thrilled with what little success the multi-million dollar deal had produced. Whether it’s the couple’s claim that Netflix was blindsided by her interview with Oprah Winfrey or rumors that “the mood in the building was, ‘We’re done,'” this is far from the peaceful week the couple had hoped for.
Of course, the claims have been officially denied by Netflix and a spokesperson for Sussex, but the vultures are circling and the complex puzzle is being solved piece by piece. As for whether this latest storyline will now damage the couple’s reputation in Hollywood, brand and culture expert Nick Ede makes it clear that the duo has gone from the top of the guest list to the punchline.

“The Netflix deal was supposed to be the big success story of their post-royal lives, so any suggestion that things aren’t going smoothly raises immediate eyebrows,” Ede told me. “When everyone starts talking like that, there’s a perception that there’s smoke and where there’s smoke there’s fire, people assume there’s fire. Claims that ‘they’re hard to work with’ are particularly damaging in Hollywood because reputation is everything.”
“From a brand perspective, this undermines their credibility. They position themselves as global storytellers with something important to say, but their authority is undermined if the focus shifts to behind-the-scenes tensions rather than the work itself. This makes them look like a couple still trying to get their feet on their feet rather than powerhouses, and it seems those foundations are still on shaky ground.”
That’s it for a peaceful start to the next ‘royal’ tour in Australia… so sit back and observe this perfect masterclass in indecent timing!
Tom Bower targeted couple

Royal writer Tom Bower took aim at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s “lack of original talent and stifling self-confidence” in a bombshell statement this week. He has broken his silence after criticizing the Sussexes’ upcoming book Betrayal as an “unbalanced plot and melodrama”.
Addressing Harry’s return to his homeland for the one-year-old Invictus Games 2027 in Birmingham, Bower said: “Their behaviour, lack of original talent and stifling self-importance have made it even more important for them to return to Britain in July, meet the King and be reaffirmed as royalty.”
“I think they will be denied that option. They face an increasingly difficult future. This is the price of betraying the Royal Family since Megxit.” Ah.
Children’s Princess

The monarchy may be respected for its soft power, but the Princess of Wales has proven that the power of the game can be just as effective.
As Colonel of the Irish Guards, Catherine was on duty at the regiment’s St. Patrick’s Day parade in Aldershot, but she was almost upstaged by two extra special guests. Young people named Vienna Mills and Mila English, who joined the families of the soldiers after the parade, attracted all the attention of the Princess, and they were quite right about it!
“Are you excited?” Catherine asked Vienna before telling her she had “beautiful hair” and applauding when the little girl twirled her blue dress. Catherine, who widely earned the unofficial nickname ‘Children’s Princess’, held out her hands to Vienna before swaying towards the ground. The Princess then laughed as she pulled Vienna to her feet.
Mila arrived in her dress that matched Catherine’s and was wowed by her special visitor.
Can’t say we blame him!

King Charles stunned public with beach walk (Image: Getty)
One small step for a man, one giant leap towards spring… well, at least for those of us in the UK!
Forgoing paperwork to get a walking stick, King Charles surprised walkers enjoying a rare sunny day on Thursday with an hour-long stroll along a “wonderful” new path named after him.
The King Charles III England Coast Path is a 2,700-mile National Path designed to make parts of England’s coastline accessible to the public for the first time and encourage the public to spend more time in nature. As the Monarch wandered off, several members of the public, unaware that he was in the area, gaped and asked, “Is this really the King? Are you serious?”
Another man, standing topless and barefoot on the stony path, simply nodded and let his Yorkshire terrier sniff the monarch’s feet. Charles later joked with a group of cyclists that their e-bikes were “doing the trick”. and told the marchers that he hoped he did not disturb their peace and quiet.
William’s hard work made youth homelessness ‘sexy’

Inspired by his mother’s passion for helping the homeless, this victory must be even sweeter for Prince William. On Thursday, a group of delegates from Australia, Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands and Finland traveled with the prince to Bournemouth to see how homelessness initiative Homewards is starting to prevent youth homelessness and find out how they can replicate this in their own countries.
As William’s goal to end homelessness, making it “rare, brief and non-recurring” now enters its third year, it’s clear he’s already made his mark on the issue.
“I told him he was making youth homelessness sexy,” said Francis Beecher, independent chairman of Bournemouth Youth Homelessness Board.
William, slightly stunned but clearly amused, laughed: “I’ve never heard of that before. I’ll take that as a victory.”
