Newly-wed Man Murdered

Hyderabad: A 22-year-old newlywed pan shop owner was brutally murdered in Ghouse Nagar area under Bandlaguda police station limits on Wednesday night. According to the police, three to four unidentified assailants attacked Ms Mohsin with knives and killed her on the spot. Mohsin had gotten married just 20 days ago.
Police suspect personal hostility as the possible motive behind the attack. Police teams arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, cordoned off the area and began collecting clues. Forensic experts are examining evidence to identify the killers. While an investigation was launched into the incident, work was started to capture the suspects. Authorities said the cause of the incident has not yet been confirmed.
TG Foundation Board ranks 3rd on Umeed portal
Hyderabad:Telangana Wakf Board has secured the third position nationally by registering around 900 Waqf properties on the Umeed portal. After assuming office as CEO on October 16, Mohammed Asadullah launched comprehensive training and awareness programs for staff and district auditors to accelerate registrations.
As per the Umeed Rules 2025, staff designated as “makers” and “controllers” were trained to guide Mutawallis and other stakeholders in uploading property details. Following a series of workshops, enrollment progress across districts increased significantly.
Awareness programs were organized in collaboration with Telangana Sajjadanasheen Mutawallis and Khidmat Guzaran Association, All India Muslim Personal Law Board and Jamaat-e-Islami. The sessions saw strong participation, with interactive discussions addressing the concerns of foundation managers. Religious associations were informed that the Waqf Board will fully support district level awareness programs on registration of Waqf properties on the Umeed portal.
45 sheep stolen in Bhongir
Hyderabad:A major sheep theft was reported from Vadaparthi village of Bhongir mandal, where unidentified persons stole 45 sheep from a farmer’s hut late on Tuesday night. According to the complaint filed by Medaboina Mahesh at Bhongir Rural police station, she and her father Medaboina Balayya took their herd to graze on October 28 and returned in the evening.
When Mahesh visited the shed around 5am the next morning, he found 45 sheep missing. Despite searches in the surrounding area, no trace of the animals could be found. Examining the CCTV footage, the family saw 4-5 unidentified people releasing the sheep and carrying them on their shoulders. Bhongir Rural SI M. Anil Kumar said a case has been registered and teams have been formed to identify and nab the culprits.
Techie arrested for abuse of power
Hyderabad:SR Nagar police have registered a case against a software engineer for allegedly behaving inappropriately with a housewife during the disturbance at Nature Mythri Apartment in Balkampet. According to the police, the incident took place on the night of October 26, when the accused Srivarun Bommineni, a technical support specialist with Infosys and a resident of Flat No. 502, was driving recklessly in an intoxicated state and recording videos of the residents.
When HR manager Madala Srilatha (36) and her husband, who live in the same apartment complex, objected to his behavior, Srivarun allegedly argued with them. While Srilatha intervened, he reportedly abused her, her mother-in-law and her daughter using obscene language and made threats.
Srilatha filed a complaint at SR Nagar police station the next day. Inspector T. Srinath Reddy confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused and the investigation has been assigned to sub-inspector Madhusudhan.
Techie arrested for rape and assault
Hyderabad:A software worker who allegedly raped a woman, attacked her with scissors and threatened to pour acid on her if she complained was arrested by Panjagutta police. According to the police, the accused, 23-year-old Anki Bhanu Prakash Goud alias Bhanu, went to the victim’s house around 9.30 pm on October 26. He argued with her roommates, then forced his way into her bedroom, locked the door from the inside, trapped her, and raped her.
Following the attack, Bhanu allegedly attacked the victim with scissors, strangled her and threatened to kill her if she reported the incident. He suffered bleeding wounds on his shoulders, hands and fingers. The suspect managed to escape with the help of his roommates and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The woman later lodged a complaint at Panjagutta police station. His statement was recorded in the presence of BHAROSA team. According to Panjagutta SHO M. Rama Krishna, the victim, who runs a small fashion studio, had recently joined a private firm as a technical support manager after experiencing business losses.
He was staying in a shared flat in the city while supporting his elderly parents. The officer said the suspect, whom she met recently, promised to marry her but repeatedly harassed and assaulted her.
The police sent the victim for medical examination and counseling and launched a special operation to trace the accused. Bhanu Prakash was arrested from his hometown Musapet village in Mahabubnagar district and was produced in court and put under judicial custody.
