‘One Family, One Entrepreneur’ scheme empowers 1,000 women to take the driver’s seat in A.P.

With an electric scooter, a smartphone and an unshakable spirit, women in Andhra Pradesh direct their families to a brighter future. A quiet revolution emerges on the streets of cities such as Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Nellore, where women of self -aid groups (SHGs) micro entrepreneurial, rapido, ferry passengers and bring a stable income.

This is compatible with the ‘One Family, One Entrepreneur’ mission, which was initiated by the Andhra Pradesh government on March 8 by Prime Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

As part of the initiative, the mission of eliminating poverty in the municipal regions (MEPMA) hand in hand with Rapido, a driving sharing platform to provide women and their families to the SHG with electric two -wheeled devices and three -wheeled devices.

At the pilot stage, the government facilitated more than 1000 benefits in Kurnool, Tirupati, Kakinada and Rajamahendravaram in Nellore and Gundur, each in Visakhapatnam and Vijayawadada, each. Approximately 760 of them were electric two -wheeled and 240 people were electrical three -wheeled.

The loans are distributed on behalf of the SHG women, but if a woman does not have a driver’s license, a licensed family member is allowed to run the vehicle on behalf of him.

In order to simplify the process, MEPMA prepared the necessary project reports and helped women to secure loans from expropriated banks within the scope of the Self -Employment Program (SEP) program.

Partnership with Rapido brought additional support. The new participants waived the platform for three to four months and monthly EMI for the first year for both two -wheeled and three -wheeled devices.

This enabled women and their families to earn from the first day without the burden of the first high repayments.

So far, 1.003 women and their families have benefited from it and have benefited from loans to buy two or three -wheel buyers with 688 records in Rapido.

“The strengthening of women is the main focus area of ​​the TDP government. I am happy that we can create this partnership with Rapido and strengthen more than 1,000 women. This is just a start and much more.”

Women receive subsidies for vehicles for vehicles between 12,300 ° for scooters, and support from Rapido in the form of 36,000 las for Autorickshaws and wages and EMI assistance in the early months.

With electric vehicles reducing fuel and maintenance costs, women entrepreneurs manage to save between 13,000 and 16,000 per month and offer their families very much needed stability.

The Andhra Pradesh government is now plans to increase the attempt to reach 4,800 women until next year. Already, more than 45,000 driving was completed by the new female driver fleet and they were able to win up to 35 Lakh in three months – May, June and July.
