Allana Consumer expects coffee exports to slow in 2025-26 on volatile markets

A senior company official said on Tuesday, September 30 (PTI) Allana Consumer Products Ltd, the country’s fourth largest coffee exporter Allana Consumer Products Ltd, exports to the current financial financial-year-old financial year to slow down 22.000-25,000 tons.
The company exported 26,300 tons of coffee in 2024-25 financially.
Allana’s Department of Coffee Department CP Boanna told PTI, “By the end of August, we export about 11,000 metric tons of green coffee. We hope to do something between 11,000 and 15,000 for the rest of the year.” He said.
Boanna said that Allana’s market volatility has reduced export volumes in the last two years because it makes it difficult to plan growth.
“We have seen the type of volatility that we have not seen in the last 40 years in the last 1-1.5 years. It is very difficult to reflect, and even make a strategy that says I will grow by 5 or 10 percent a year.” He said.
The company gives priority to profit margins about the increase in income while browsing uncertain markets, buying coffee and trade in an opportunistic way.
The company’s export volumes ranged from 25,000 to 29,600 tons in the last five years.
Allana exports to Middle East, North Africa, Russia, Europe, South Korea and Southeast Asia. The company has a market share of 60-70 percent in the Middle East region and the rest is divided between Europe and other countries.
Boanna said that exports to the United States, which is already negligible due to high freight costs, will decrease further due to tariffs.
It makes more sense for our buyers to supply coffee from Brazil, one of the world’s largest manufacturers in the world.
The company operates 20,000 tons of processing facilities in Hassan, which is supported by outsourcing and rented facilities in Chikmagalur, Kushalnagar and Kochi.
“From now on, there is no need to increase the capacity because we have discussed the amounts of 25,000-35,000 tons in 5 units itself.” He said.
In India’s coffee-production view, Boanna said that the latest coffee board report estimated a slight growth in 4.03 lakh tons in 2025-26 (October-September), but that the timeless rains could cause a small decline than previous projections.
“We will only know the real situation when the harvest begins,” he said.
