Imane Khelif launches appeal in bid to overturn ban over genetic sex testing

The gender order boxer Imaane Khelif appeals against the decision to prohibit him to fight him.

Khelif, who won gold in Paris, rejected the entry into world boxing events unless he did a sex test.

However, the 26 -year -old took to the Sports Arbitration Court (CAS) in order to overthrow the ban, and it was allowed to be allowed to be allowed to be tested without being tested.

In June, World Boxing announced a new compulsory sex test policy. In the announcement, the bosses had to apologize after the Welterweight Gold won Khelif.

Khelif from Algeria opened an appeal at the beginning of this month, and wants World Boxing to be reversed, indicating that he was not allowed to participate in the ‘Eindhoven’s Box Cup or any world boxing event until he had a genetic sex test’.

The appeal also demands that CAS is appropriate to participate in the 2025 World Boxing Championship between 4-14 September.

In the early hours today, CAS rejected the request to suspend the execution of World Boxing’s decision until the case was heard, and therefore khelif was banned. The parties are currently changing written shipments with a hearing to be planned.

Together with Taiwan warrior Lin Yu-Sting, Khelif was disqualified from the 2023 world championships by the previous administrative organization International Boxing Association. Both were allegedly unsuccessful in gender tests.

However, the couple was cleaned by the International Olympic Committee to the Box in Paris, which released IBA as an administrative organ on corruption concerns. Both boxers would continue to win gold in the women’s category.

IOC said that if the boxers stated that they are only women with their passports, they are suitable for the women’s department.
