No Headway in Yeleru Reserve Upgrade, Despite Promise From Pawan Kalyan

Kakinada: No progress has been made in the reservoir Modernization Project due to the non -allocation of state funds.
The job has been waiting for the last ten years. As a result, along the rain season and cyclones, paddy fields and other standing products remain inundated, causing major damage to plants and severe losses to farmers.
Deputy Prime Minister Pawan Kalyan promised farmers and living in the project area with the modernization of the reservoir. However, it has not been accelerated so far.
The YELERU reservoir has a capacity of 24.11 TMC to cover 63,000 acres of foot. During cyclones and heavy rains, the reservoir overflows and the waters stand out and some housing colonies in Gollaprollu leave underwater.
While the Congress ruled the government from 2004 to 2014, then the Central Minister MM Pallam Raju made efforts to implement modernization works at 80 CRORE. Again, the project stopped.
During the Telugu Desam period, then the government approved 13 RS Crore for purpose. However, the funds were not released, but it was rated as a “best designed” project.
If the funds are released for the project, a benefit can be released directly to the sea during cyclones without water, more than 73,000 water water, crops and housing colonies.
So far, the project cost for modernization has increased by more than 900 RS.
Kakinada Regional Collector Shan Mohan made a design for Yaleru reservoir project. Effort is being made to obtain the amounts. It aims to carry out the first stage of the Gollaproll to stop the raid of crops and housing colonies.
The waters from Jaderu and Maderu rivets in the agencies are the main sources for the Yleru River. In the 1980s, when the reservoir project was designed, it aimed to provide 53,000 acres of water.
Ayacut. Unauthorized Ayacut is approximately 63,000 acres to 70,000 acres depending on the presence of water.
Before the construction of the reservoir, a village officer Ramanna Panthulu had determined 30 flood points and explained in detail when the Yoleru River was flooded and when they faced a problem. However, after construction, the flood points were changed due to water flows, which led to the fact that farmers’ paddyfields remain under water.
Since it is narrow directly from the sea mouth to the project area, there is no way to send it directly from the reservoir to the sea.
