Four people, including two children, found dead in Perth in suspected murder-suicide | Australia news

Two adults and two children were found dead in Perth’s Mosman Park suburb in a suspected double murder and suicide, police said.
At 8.15am on Friday, emergency services received a distressed call from a person known to the family who had attended the house in Mott Close.
When police arrived at the scene a short time later, they found the bodies of two adults, a 50-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman, and two children, ages 14 and 16, who were a family unit. Three deceased pets were also found.
“This tragic incident occurred only this morning and it will take time to investigate all the circumstances surrounding this incident,” Det Insp Jessica Securo said on Friday.
Securo said the incident did not appear to be a “violent” incident, saying no weapons were used. There were no cases of domestic violence reported by the family to the police.
Securo added that both children have “significant health issues” and have been in care in the past.
A note was left at the building, but Securo said police could not disclose the contents of the letter. He said the letter was the main reason police treated the case as a murder-suicide.
A spokesman for St John Ambulance WA said five crews were dispatched to the home in priority 1 conditions just before 8.30am this morning, reflecting potentially life-threatening calls.
Securo described this as a “confrontation” scene.
“Officers are understandably in shock after encountering an incident like this,” he said.
“It is not often that our police encounter such a tragic incident in which so many people die.
“So we’re deploying a medical and welfare officer and our police chaplain to get to the scene as quickly as possible, talk to the officers, put our arms around them and make sure they’re okay.”
