At least five killed, ten injured in van-tractor collision in Bhopal

Five people died and 10 were injured when a minibus and a tractor trolley collided in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

It was stated that the accident occurred late on Wednesday night, January 14, 2026, in the Berasia region of the district.

The tractor trolley was carrying people returning from holy bath in Narmadapuram on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.

Berasia police station inspector Vijendra Sen said that a Narmadapuram-bound pickup truck and a tractor trolley collided head-on.

The police arrived at the scene upon notice and rescued the passengers trapped in the damaged vehicles.

In Van, 5 people, including 3 from the same family, died at the scene. The official said that the deceased were Mukesh Ahirwar (40), Babri Bai (60), Deepak (14), Laxmi Bai (60) and Hari Bai (60), all residents of Sironj.

10 people, including 3 children, in both vehicles were injured. They were referred to Hamidia and other private hospitals in Bhopal for treatment.
