America Action Network (AAN), a conservative nonprofit advocacy group affiliated with House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., has spent more than $37 million on messaging on cost-of-living issues, according to its leadership.

“Cost of living is the number one issue on working families’ minds right now. American Action Network has invested $37 million highlighting how conservative policies provide real relief,” AAN president Chris Winkelman told Fox News Digital. he said.

The renewed spending further solidifies affordability, a key issue that is expected to play a major role in the 2026 midterms.

As inflation has risen in recent months, AAN believes Republicans can continue to push the affordability message as an effective way to reach voters, and has highlighted the issue in several ads, narrowing down the work Republicans are doing through Trump’s signature Big Beautiful One Bill.

The group has been advancing messaging on the bill since its passage in July of last year.

“America’s comeback has arrived. President Trump and House Republicans are serving the American people, keeping their promises, and delivering the change they demand. Working families are always getting tax breaks, tip and overtime taxes are being cut, and our border is being strengthened,” one ad said.

“This is a new America,” he continued.

A recent Fox News poll shows that 50 percent of voters list the cost of living as their top economic concern, up from 50 percent of voters in Fox’s February poll.

Democrats also took aim at affordability, pointing to President Donald Trump’s promise to lower daily costs, which has faced hurdles due to fallout from the war in Iran and high gas prices. Inflation increased by 4.2 percent in May accordingly Bureau of Labor Statistics – A data point that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, DY, has repeatedly pointed out.

Despite this, AAN and other Republican groups criticized Democrats for opposing the relief measures included in the Big Beautiful Bill, stating that if they were successful, opposition would likely lead to widespread tax increases.

This is the view of Richard Hudson, chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).

“House Democrats continue to prove out of touch with the concerns of ordinary Americans. While Republicans focus on affordability, public safety and the security of the border, Democrats remain captive to a far-left agenda that is failing working families,” Hudson said. he said.

In a $3 million ad campaign in Florida, Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District and Washington State, AAN criticized Democrats in those districts.

“Marie Gluesenkamp Perez must have a bad memory. She clearly forgot about us when she voted for the largest tax increase in American history. Perez voted against giving more money to hard-working families in Washington,” a sample of the ad reads.
