Full list of retained and released players of Gujarat Titans

Gujarat Titans announced the complete list of retained and released players ahead of IPL 2026 and it became a pivotal moment for the franchise. With a mix of bold decisions, strategic calls and surprising exits, GT set the tone for a revamped squad heading into the new season.

Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans secured their place in the play-offs for the third time in four seasons in IPL 2025, but their journey ended against Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator. The Ahmedabad-based team failed to reach the final despite an impressive season marked by strong performances from their top batsmen.

Ultimately, they finished the season in third place in the overall points table. After a difficult start with a first defeat, GT bounced back by winning four consecutive matches, putting them in a strong position for a play-off challenge. Although they faced some difficulties in the middle of the season, they managed to recover but lost their last two matches in the league stage. However, they progressed to the knockout stage where they lost to MI by 20 runs, ending their campaign on a disappointing note.

Looking ahead to IPL 2026, the Titans are aiming to make a strong comeback after making significant changes to their squad. Recently, GT traded West Indies all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford to Mumbai Indians for a total of Rs 2.6 million.
