Shortly afterwards, psychologist Darren Stanton told the Daily Mail about the public statement.
“For Kylie and Timothee, one of the reasons they’re so open in their gestures and declarations of love is because of what’s called social proof and relationship validation,” Stanton said on behalf of Press Box PR.
He added: ‘They send a very clear and direct message to the public that the relationship was real, safe and intentional. This doesn’t just apply to cameras; They have been in this relationship for a long time.
‘When people show affection in public, it is also designed to reduce speculation and deter trolls or those who do not believe the relationship will last.’
Stanton added that Jenner and Chalamet wanted to “show their relationship to the public.”
