Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the first foreign leader on Friday with the order of Trinidad and the order of the Republic of Tobago. Christine Kangaloo, the president of Trinidad and Tobago, ordered the country’s highest national award to Prime Minister Modi of Trinidad and Tobago Republic. This is the 25th international honor given to PM Modi by a country.

Speaking about the award, Prime Minister Modi said, “The fact that this honor is given to a foreign leader for the first time reflects the depth of our private relationship. This honor stems from our common history and cultural heritage. More than 180 years ago, those who came from India put the foundation of our friendship. Trinidad and the advancement of Tobago.”

Prime Minister Modi said the award reflects the eternal and deep friendship between the two countries. “There is the excitement of cricket and pepper spices in our relationships … The deep harmony between the two cultures is a great power of our relationships. As a close and reliable partner, we emphasize the skill development of the people of Trinidad and Tobago, and the development of capacity of the people of Trinidad and Tobago is important for cooperation for the entire global South. PM Modi also held a bilateral meeting with Christine Kangalooo, the president of Trinidad and Tobago at the Port of Spain. It is likely that the two countries will sign several agreements to increase bilateral trade and cooperation.
