Eels grant Zac Lomax immediate release as R360 move looms
Parramatta have authorized the immediate release of Zac Lomax amid speculation the star winger would move to Rugby 360.
Lomax played his final game for the Eels after they released him for the final three years of his contract worth approximately $700,000 per season. One of the conditions of the statement is that Lomax cannot play for another NRL club without the Eels’ express permission.

But given the NRL is threatening a 10-year ban for anyone who signs for Rugby 360, it’s likely Lomax will never play in the 13-man squad again.
“Parramatta Eels can confirm that Zac Lomax has been released from his playing contract with immediate effect to pursue opportunities outside the NRL,” the Eels said in a statement on Sunday night.
“The club would like to thank Zac for his contribution during his time at the Eels in 2025 and wish him all the best for the future.”
Lomax has not told the Eels what his plans are but the club suspects he will join the breakaway rugby competition. The 26-year-old spent just one year in the blue and gold after pushing for his release from the Dragons and eventually being released.
Parramatta’s other representative winger Josh Addo-Carr agreed a one-year extension on Thursday that will keep him at the club until the end of 2027. Bailey Simonsson, who fell out with manager Jason Ryles last season before the pair resolved their differences, is likely to take the other wing spot.
