France to summon US ambassador after comments about death of far-right activist | France

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said he would summon US Ambassador to France Charles Kushner over his comments regarding the murder of French far-right activist Quentin Deranque.

Deranque was beaten to death in Lyon last week while fighting with alleged far-left activists.

The US embassy in France and the US State Department’s counterterrorism bureau said they were monitoring the incident, and both warned X that “violent radical leftism is on the rise” and should be treated as a threat to public safety.
