Encounter breaks out between security personnel and Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur

A clash broke out between security personnel and Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Friday, December 19, 2025, a police official said.

He said that the clashes started in the morning hours in the forest hills of Bhairamgarh-Indravati region, when the District Reserve Guard team went on an anti-Maoist operation upon information about the presence of Maoist cadres in the area.

Intermittent firing continued and further details were awaited, the official added.

Three Maoists, including a woman, were collectively carrying a reward of ₹ 12 lakh during the encounter with security personnel in Sukma area on Thursday, December 18, 2025, police had said earlier.
