The Krazy Coupon Lady announced in an Instagram Post that “Dollar Tree is changing the game.”
“Starting this month, Dollar Tree is finally starting to sell penny items to customers,” the post continued. “They refused for YEARS, but thanks to a policy change they are now yours for $0.01 – if you can find them.”
Dollar Tree store employees appear to have approved this change in policy, according to multiple reports. Reddit threads.
“We received a message from the operations center and an email from our regional manager regarding the new policy,” one poster said.

“We were allowed to sell items that were part of the Q4 liquidation event. They are now priced at a penny in the system. But when a customer brings them in for purchase, we have to collect the rest if they are left on the shelf.”
Other posters confirmed this, stating that they received the same operations center message in their own stores.
