Tourist dies in paragliding crash near Himachal’s Dharamshala

Police said that a tourist who was subjected to serious injuries after falling near the city of Dharamshala, Paraglide, Paragra, died in the hospital on Monday, July 14, 2025.

The deceased person is described as Satish (27) from Gujarat. On Sunday, July 13, 2025 from the Indru Nag slope area in the suburbs of the city, the Paraglider pilot took off on a flight with Surek, but Paraglider collapsed after a short distance. A video of winning on the internet is circulating.

Satish was subjected to serious injuries in this accident and was brought to Zonal Hospital Dharamshala and then referred to Tanda Medical College, where he died on Monday. Mr. Suraj is still under treatment.

The family members of the deceased were informed about the incident and the body will be delivered to them after death, Kangra Additional Police (SP) Hitesh Lakhanpal Additional Inspector.

Local Station House Officer (SHO) was directed to the investigation, and the officials of the Tourism Department were asked to examine the issue.

Previously, in January of this year, a female tourist from Gujarat, which was defined as Bhavsar Khushi, died when she fell on a tandem flight. There were two more accidents per month, which resulted in many deaths.

In total, more than 12 people died during the paragliding in Himachal Pradesh for the last 30 months. However, the majority of deaths were attributed to high -risk zones or free brochures entering the internal valleys, which had little information about topography and local wind conditions.
