Kremlin says Europe’s drone cooperation with Ukraine shows its growing involvement in the war

MOSCOW, April 17 (Reuters) – European countries are becoming more involved in the war in Ukraine, the Kremlin said on Friday, citing a warning by the Russian Defense Ministry about drone production facilities on the continent and in Britain.
The Ministry of Defense on Wednesday warned against European plans to increase drone supplies to Ukraine and published a list of factories and businesses allegedly producing drones or drone components.
It listed facilities in the UK, Germany, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Israel and Türkiye.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who is now deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, said in a subsequent post on X that the list was a list of potential targets for Russia’s armed forces. “When strikes become a reality depends on what happens next. Sleep well, European partners!” said Medvedev.
When asked whether the Defense Ministry’s statement and Medvedev’s comments meant that Russia was really considering hitting targets in Europe, Peskov did not answer yes or no.
“These countries are increasingly involved in direct conflict in the war surrounding Ukraine,” Peskov said. “The details are set out in the statement of the Ministry of Defense.”
