More than 500 small boat arrivals in UK on day of Starmer and Macron’s migration deal

According to temporary figures from the home office, approximately 573 immigrants came to England on Thursday after passing the British channel.

The number of cumulative arrival in 2025 is currently a total of 21,690 temporary temporary.

This is 14.058 higher than this stage in 2023, when the total total is 13,110, and 54 percent higher than the same point of the previous year, where it was 65 percent higher.

On Thursday, at least 10 boats arrived, which shows that there are an average of 57 people per boat.

The figures were published just a day after Sir Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron accepted an agreement to address the number of people on small boats. The agreement was made during a three -day trip to England, including Mr. Macron’s reception of King Charles.

A single -time agreement will see a small number of immigrants passing the channel on small boats sent back to France.

The Ministry of Interior refused to approve the numbers, but the pilot said he expected the number to grow as the scheme progressed.

In contrast, Britain will receive the same number of immigrants from France, and will choose strong ties with the family or the country in the UK.

Sir Keir greeted the agreement with Paris as a “groundbreaking” step to prevent people from making a dangerous journey along the channel.

Sir Keir said: “There is no silver bullets here, but we can finally turn the paintings with a united effort, new tactics and a new level of intention.

“Therefore, I am pleased to declare our agreement with a groundbreaking turn pilot today. For the first time, the immigrants who come with a small boat will be detained and return to France in a short time.”

Hours after the couple signed the agreement, approximately 220 people, including 70 on a boat, were reportedly brought to the shore by the Border Forces officials in Dover.

Interior Minister Yette Cooper refused to say how many immigrants will return to France within the scope of the new agreement when he entered the agreement on Friday morning.

He told me Times Radio: “Even for this pilot stage we have started right now, the numbers are not fixed. This will be a program we publish step by step and we will provide updates on the way to go. But we will do so steadily.”

The Mayor of Calais, the French coastal city, set out to attempts to reach the UK by using small boats, and directed the latest criticism of the agreement. On Thursday, the first reactions from charities and Nigel Farage’s reform party were underestimated. While Mr. Farage accused Sir Keir of leaning on Europe, charities accused the labor leader of the reform of the labor leader.

Calais Mayor Natacha Bouchart said that the agreement would act as a “attraction önemli to migrants to the coastal city.

“Migrants will be withdrawn here by attraction,” he said. “You get the impression that national politicians do not give anything about local politicians. We will have to rule the immigrants that the British government will choose to return to France.”
