Photos show an airline is under fire after a vegan passenger was served what appeared to be a moldy sandwich.
British tourist Paul Booker, who flew from Cancun to London on January 14, posted a photo of the incriminating sandwich served on a Virgin Atlantic flight on Channel X last month.
Pictures show two loose pieces of zucchini and what appears to be a charred, moldy pepper on a small baguette.

Booker told Kennedy News that the sandwich was served as a breakfast option toward the end of his 10-hour flight.
When she opened the sandwich bread, she was horrified by its contents and immediately called a flight attendant.

“It’s definitely the worst meal I’ve ever had. It’s definitely the worst offer I’ve ever had,” he said.
He said there was “no way” he could eat the unappetizing meal.
“Honestly, it was almost like a laugh of shock.”
The sandwich “looked rotten,” he said.
“I showed this to my friend and honestly it was like a shocked laugh.”
The flight attendant gave him a fruit salad and encouraged him to contact Virgin Atlantic for a voucher.

“There was a fun inscription on the box that said, ‘We found love in a hungry place,'” Booker said, which he found ironic.
“I definitely didn’t find love there, but I was definitely in a hungry place,” she added.

Booker said he spent about $820 on the flight.
In return, Virgin Atlantic gave him a £100 voucher, the equivalent of about $136; He rejected this offer as inadequate.

“They could have given me £500 [about $680] “And it won’t be a drop in the ocean for them,” he said.
The passenger said the flight attendant was “really embarrassed” by the incident.
“All customers, including those with special dietary requirements, should receive food that meets our usual high standards.”
The airline told Fox News Digital it takes dietary requirements very seriously.
“We never want to disappoint our customers, so it is disheartening to hear that Mr Booker was unhappy with the meal served on his flight from Cancun to London Heathrow,” a spokesman said.

The episode highlights many passengers’ ongoing frustration with airline food quality.

Meanwhile, American Airlines recently announced that it will offer a limited-time, 1920s-inspired in-flight menu on select first- and business-class flights.
