Excise steps up crackdown on sale of illicit liquor in Kozhikode

Ahead of Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Excise Department established a 24-hour control room and deployed a strike force to prevent the distribution and sale of illicit liquor and narcotics, strengthen night patrolling and ensure immediate action on complaints.

The public can register their complaints directly at the control rooms, tax offices or through the mobile numbers of the office heads.

The Acting Commissioner of Excise said in a press release that the identities of the complainants will be kept secret and those who provide information about the production of fake liquor, foreign liquor or illegal beer will be rewarded.
