Trump endorses Trever Nehls for Texas 22nd Congressional District

President Donald Trump gave Trever Nehls his “complete and total support” in the race to serve Texas’ 22nd Congressional District; that seat is currently held by Rep. Troy Nehls, Trever’s twin.
“It is my honor to support MAGA warrior TREVER NEHLS as he runs to represent the incredible people of Texas’ 22nd Congressional District. Trever’s brother is Troy Nehls, Texas’ GREAT Congressman. He and his family are fierce advocates of our movement to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. wrote Trump on Truth Social.
“As a former Fort Bend County Officer and retired U.S. Army Colonel, Trever strongly supports our incredible law enforcement, military, and veterans and knows the wisdom and courage it takes to maintain LAW AND ORDER,” Trump said. Trump added.
Trump said Trever Nehls, if elected, would work to secure the border, stop immigration crime, cut taxes and regulations and “defend the Second Amendment, which is always under siege,” among other things.

Trever Nehls said: post on facebook He said he was “extremely honored” to have Trump’s support.
“In Congress, I will stand firmly with President Trump and work to sign President Trump’s executive orders into permanent law. I will work tirelessly to secure the opportunity to represent TX-22 in Congress and fight side by side with President Trump to secure our homeland, make affordability a reality, and usher in America’s Golden Age,” he said in the post.

Troy Nehls, a close ally of the president, announced his retirement on November 29, saying he would “go home after Congress.”
“After more than 30 years in law enforcement protecting and serving my community as a police officer, marshal, Sheriff of Fort Bend County, and Army veteran, and representing this district in Congress for six years, after conversations with my beautiful daughter-in-law and daughters over the Thanksgiving holiday, I have made the decision to focus on my family and return home after this Congress,” Troy Nehls said in a statement. he said.
“Before making this decision, I personally called President Trump and informed him of my plans. President Trump has always been a strong ally and true friend to our district, and I wanted him to hear it from me first,” the congressman said.

On Tuesday, Trever Nehls’ campaign announced Troy had nominated him to replace him.
Trump also endorsed the reelection of several Republican lawmakers from Texas, including Reps. John Carter, Randy Weber, Michael Cloud, Nathaniel Moran and Craig Goldman.
