“Are you a fraud?” Kennedy asked the witness.

“Excuse me?” Manners replied to this.

During cross-examination, Kennedy implied that Manners had made up the story and falsified his police statement. He also brought a tree branch to use as a “pointer” during presentations during cross-examination because he was told there was no such branch in court.

Manners told the court that Kennedy honked his horn aggressively and threatened him personally before getting out of his car on the day of the incident in May last year.

Kennedy then allegedly grabbed the elderly woman by the neck and pushed her.

Manners had moved into the property, valued at more than $2 million, less than a year before the alleged incident.

The 81-year-old woman claimed she was frightened by the alleged attack and thought she was having a heart attack.

On Tuesday, the court was shown body-worn camera footage from the moment Kennedy was arrested, with Kennedy responding “this is weird” when police arrived at her front door.

Kennedy claimed that he had a medical emergency with his dog on the day of the incident but was unable to get out of the driveway due to Manners parking, which led him to argue with the woman, who “got into an argument.”

Kennedy claimed Manners shouted at her, “I hope the dog dies, Louise,” which caused her to “momentarily lose control.”

He admitted swearing but was adamant he did not hit the woman and never held a knife.

A police officer testified Tuesday that Kennedy’s DNA was not found on the clothing Manners was wearing the day of the incident.

The trial was later adjourned due to allegations that Manners’ children had “taught” his evidence from the public gallery.

The case was postponed until February.
