Young Reagan followed in his family’s footsteps.

Reagan began acting after attending Arizona State University and Los Angeles Valley College, appearing on television shows including Falcon Crest and spending nearly two decades as a conservative radio talk show host talking about politics and culture.

In her two autobiographical books, From the Outside Looking in and Twice Adopted, she described an at times difficult childhood that included coming to terms with her adoption and her journey of faith.

Reagan penned several other books, including Lessons My Father Taught Me, published in 2016, in which Ronald Reagan detailed the lessons he learned while raising his son.

Throughout his life, Reagan raised money and worked for charities; He used powerboat races as fundraisers for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the Statue of Liberty Restoration Fund. Reagan served on the advisory board of the Mixed Roots Foundation, which focuses on foster care and adoption issues in the United States and globally.

Reagan served as chairman of the board of the John Douglas French Alzheimer’s Foundation for three years, working on the same disease to which his father succumbed in 2004.

He championed his father’s legacy as chairman and president of the Reagan Legacy Foundation. The conservative former president was known to have tried to shrink the government and devoted his presidency to winning the cold war.

Michael Reagan’s second and decades-long marriage was to his wife, Colleen, with whom he had two children.
