54 Breast cancer cases per one lakh women in Hyderabad against 26.6 national average

Hyderabad records one of the highest rates of breast cancer in the country, with 54 cases per one lakh women, compared to the national average of 26.6. In order to raise awareness on this issue, Yıldız Cancer Center brought together 1000 cyclists for a cycloton on Sunday. The event focused on personalized care and the power of community action. Addressing the participants, senior consultant and head of Medical Oncology, Sainath Bhethanabhotla emphasized the importance of proactive screening. “Hyderabad carries an alarming tag due to high incidence of breast cancer. Other cancers are also on the rise,” he added.
