Dana Eden, the creator and producer of the Israeli spy drama Tehran, was found dead in a Greek hotel while filming the new season of the series.
The 52-year-old Israeli died suddenly and his body was found in his hotel room in Athens by his brother after he failed to respond to his messages.
Local police are investigating the cause of the woman’s death, for which an autopsy is expected, but Greek news sources claim there are currently no signs of foul play.

‘We are shocked and saddened by the untimely death of our dear friend and partner. Dana was a talented creator with an international reputation.’
There was speculation online that Ms. Eden was killed by Iranian agents, but the production company denied these rumors in a statement.
The following statements were made in the statement: ‘The production company wishes to make it clear that rumors that the death was criminal or nationalistic are not true and unfounded.’
‘We call on the media and the public not to publish unfounded theories and to act with responsibility and sensitivity. “This is a moment of great pain for family, friends and colleagues,” he added. ‘We want to protect Dana’s dignity and privacy.’

Dana Eden’s series Tehran wins Emmy Award for best drama series in 2021
Tehran won a 2021 Emmy Award for best drama series starring Glen Close and Hugh Laurie in the second and third seasons, respectively.
The series was filming its fourth season in Greece, following the third series that aired on Apple TV Plus last month. Athens would represent the setting in Tehran, as the cities are visually similar and Israelis are prohibited from visiting Iran.
It’s about a young Mossad agent who infiltrates Iran’s nuclear program with a fake identity, but gets stuck in his fake life.
Police are currently collecting security camera footage and statements from hotel staff.
The Israel Broadcasting Corporation also published a tribute saying it was “saddened” by Ms. Eden’s death.
‘Dana was a senior figure in the Israeli television industry and a central figure in the creation and leadership of some of the company’s most prominent and influential productions,’ the company said.
It looks like the production will continue filming following Ms. Eden’s death.
The company continued: ‘The fourth season of the series is currently filming in Greece; It’s a complex and important production that Dana follows closely.
Hugh Laurie starred in the third season of Tehran, which aired on Apple TV Plus last month.
