Dan Cole to leave Leicester Tigers after 18 years for personal reasons

Leicester Tigers stalwart Dan Cole will leave the club after 18 years for personal reasons.

Cole, 38, took on the role of director of recruiting and retention after playing for the Tigers from 2007 to 2025.

The former player made more than 340 appearances for the club and broke Leicester’s record for league appearances in the 2023-24 season.

“It is with a heavy heart that I leave the Tigers,” Cole said.

“This club means everything to me and it has been an honor to represent this badge. Unfortunately, a change in personal circumstances has meant that I am unable to continue to give this role the attention it deserves and so I am stepping away.

“I have no doubt that the club has a strong foundation for 2026 and beyond and I wish Geoff, the players and everyone at Mattioli Woods Welford Road the best of luck.”

Leicester-born Cole won four Premiership titles during his time at Welford Road.
