At the meeting with Muslim leaders and senior police officials, the abolition of speakers from mosques in Mumbai, Deputy Prime Minister of Maharashtra and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar, police, not to visit the vigil problems, led him not to visit the problems.

This comes after the Muslim leaders’ delegation complaining about the police action on the removal of the speakers, as well as complaining about Mr. Somaiya’s campaigns against speakers in various parts of Mumbai. Despite the conformity of the court’s permitted noise levels under 56 decibels, Muslim representatives claimed that the police harassed the mosque committees.

“A person like Kirit Somaiya has created pressure in Mumbai. Muslims are targeted and harassed.”

The delegation consisted of Muslim leaders Nawab Malik, Zeeshan Siddique, Abu Azmi, Waris Pathan, You Malik, Jalllal Uddin and Siddhaarth Kamble, who accused the police of political pressure. During the meeting, the state DGP Rashmi Shukla and Mumbai Police Commissioner Develi Bharti were present.

Waris Pathan from Aimim said, “The police lifts sound systems illegally, fueled tensions. What is the problem with Azaan? There has been there for years,” he said.

Zeeshan Siddique said, “Delegation also demanded a single window permit system, where the permission of the speakers can be obtained from a place. However, the decision will be taken at the next meeting.”

During the meeting, police commissioner Deven Bharti showed that it may not be practical to adhere to the 46-56 decibel border set by the Supreme Court. Ajit Pawar instructed the police commissioner and police general manager to act against those who violate the rules, but emphasized that no wrong action should be taken. “Police commissioner Mumbai reported that 1500 speakers have been removed,” Waris said.
