Nancy Pelosi retires after transforming Democrats into socialist party

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!

The year was 1987, and the Democratic speaker of the House was a moderate Texan named Jim Wright, the Senate majority leader was Robert Byrd of West Virginia, and socialism was a dirty word in the Party of Jefferson and Jackson.

This was the year that San Francisco native Nancy Pelosi would begin her career in Congress, and for both her and her Democratic Party, we’d say you’ve definitely come a long way, baby.

Former Speaker Pelosi announced this week that she will not run for a 900th term in the House or whatever, and that, at age 85, she is leaving a Democratic Party that has almost entirely embraced socialism. It is undoubtedly the biggest reason.

Last month, amid mounting pressure from the left, Pelosi’s hand-picked successor to hold the House gavel, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-Y., endorsed a consummate socialist as mayor of his hometown of New York City in what appeared to be a hostage video.

NANCY PELOSI’S CRITICS CELEBRATE HER RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

Many observers, including myself, have concluded that Democrats have created a socialist monster that is now eating them up, but in Pelosi’s case it may be a little different. He may be reaching the socialism he wanted from the beginning, faster than he expected.

When Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, DY, and her team of America-blaming socialists stormed the House in 2019, Pelosi did nothing to suggest their Marxism was incompatible with the party. Instead he appeared on magazine covers with them.

Pelosi is praised to the heavens by both parties for her ability to rule her conference with an iron fist and pay no attention to dissent, but in practice this has clearly alienated moderate Democrats. He became a Republican in the case of New Jersey Representative Jeff Van Drew.

THE ASSEMBLY DEM SHOWS THAT THE ELECTION IS A WARNING FOR THE DEMOCRATS, DEMANDING THE PARTY TO ‘STAND STRONG’

There is no indication that Pelosi is upset that it is now the Democratic Socialist Party in all but name. We can imagine former GOP Speaker John Boehner lamenting the Tea Party and Trump taking over his party with a cigarette and a glass of red wine, but Pelosi seems pretty happy about it.

The two most important Democrats of their generation are former President Bill Clinton and Nancy Pelosi. Both have famous photographs of themselves in their youth with party icon President John F. Kennedy, and each has a very different relationship with their legacy.

Clinton, the last of the Southern Democrats, rescued a party badly disconnected from the nation in 1992 by embracing the policies of Walter Mondale and Michael Dukakis (then far left).

NANCY PELOSI WILL NOT BE RE-ELECTED, ENDING HER DECADES-LONG HOME CAREER

Pelosi’s relationship with JFK is quite different. He ends his career as San Francisco’s liberal lion in a party that Kennedy, a staunch anti-Communist, would not recognize as his own. This was definitely a man who knew what a woman was.

To see where Pelosi, her party, her country, and her district have reached under her leadership, one need look no further than her likely successor, transgender activist and socialist State Senator Scott Wiener. He argued that sex offender registries should be reduced or eliminated because, for some reason, transgender people are disproportionately registered.

Today’s Democratic Socialist party in a nutshell: Wiener basically says: “I’m sorry, we want to protect your children, but this might offend the man in the dress.”

SOCIALIST WAVE SPREADS FROM COAST TO COAST AS PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATS Rally AROUND ZOHRAN MAMDANI’S VICTORY IN NYC

This is Nancy Pelosi’s legacy.

Despite the nascent and hopeful efforts of the somewhat sensible San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie, Pelosi’s hometown has fallen into a disgraceful disarray of disorganization, particularly due to Democratic Socialist policies such as cashless bail, light policing, and a disregard for the vagrancy and addiction of the population.

During her time in power, Pelosi has presided over one of the largest swings to the left of any party, anywhere. When he first took the gavel in 2007, then-presidential candidate Barack Obama still opposed gay marriage (or at least said he did) because of his deep Christian beliefs. No Democrat in Congress today has such a belief.

No, Pelosi is not the victim of the socialist coup that toppled the Democrats. Andrew Cuomo is, and Senator Chuck Schumer certainly seems to be, too. But not Pelosi. Do you really think he’s against free buses or public grocery stores?

No, smiley-faced Nancy wanted this all along, and it looks like Nancy really does have the last laugh.
