Wimbledon 2025: Yulia Putintseva appeals to umpire over safety concern

World number 33 Yulia Putintseva increased the security concerns about an audience in the first round match in Wimbledon and asked them to be thrown out.
At the beginning of the match against Amanda Anisimova in the 15 -year -old court, he directly complained about an audience he described as “crazy” and “dangerous”.
A club spokesman said the issue was “handled”.
While following 3-0 on the opening set, Putintseva from Kazakhstan first expressed his concerns.
“Can you take him out, I won’t continue to play until he leaves. These people are dangerous, crazy,” he said.
Later, it was seen that he pointed to a part of the crowd and described the person as wearing green.
The president appeared in court and spoke to three members of the security personnel.
When Putintseva was told that the game would continue, it was heard that he didn’t want to do it until security seized it.
“Go out him, because maybe he has a knife,” he said.
Putintseva was emotional later in the match and continued to lose 6-0 6-0 in 45 minutes.
Then he did not speak to the media.
All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) spokesperson BBC Sport said: “After a complaint about an audience’s behavior in the court, the referee informed the security and the issue was discussed.”
In the meantime, Anisimova told BBC that the audience believes when he said something. [Putintseva] He was about to serve and added: “I’m sure we’ve been protected”.
Previously, AELTC General Manager Sally Bolton said: “The players are knowledgeable for the measures to be applied to continue to play with the confidence that they are looking well.”
