No fertiliser shortage in UP, supply uninterrupted: Minister Shahi

Lucknow said that on Wednesday, the Minister of Agriculture of Uttar Pradesh, August 20 (PTI), said that there was no shortage of urea or other fertilizers in the state and that it was a “uninterrupted supply” for the ongoing Kharif season.

Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, Shahi said that farmers had purchased and consumed 32.07 lakh metric tons in the state until 19 August compared to 27.86 lakh metric tons in the same period last year.
“This means that 4.21 lakh metric tons are provided to farmers this year.”
According to the minister, Uttar Pradesh had a total of 37.97 lakh metric tons of urea urea since April 1, 2025, which was still available in regions for purchasing 6 lak lakh metric tons.
“Approximately 1,52 Crore farmers have provided urea through POS machines using biometric authentication.”
In the reports of honesty, Shahi, Maharajganj and Siddharthnagar region, a few people bought more than more than one metric tons of urea and increased suspicions of resignation.
“Such cases are under investigation and strict actions will be taken against black marketing and deflection.”
The Minister said that local administrations in the border regions were directed to accelerate Vigil to prevent the fertilizer from escaping from the state.
Apart from the urea, farmers are currently able to access 3.87 Lakh MT DAP, 3 Lakh MT NPK, 2.51 Lakh MT SSP and 0.63 Lakh MT MOP and added the total chemical fertilizer stock to 15.91 lakh mt.
Authorized, both the cooperative and the private sector was mobilized to provide trouble -free distribution, he said.
Shahi stressed that the center and the state government are working in coordination to provide daily supply.
“Currently, 24 urea and 12 rakes that will achieve their goals within the next 3-4 days.

Similarly, notification to 132 wholesale sellers, 13 licenses were suspended and 4 licenses were canceled.
Authorized, 53 fertilizer producers were notified and 93 fires were placed against people related to black marketing, excessive pricing and stacking.
Shahi, “Fertilizers are offered in sufficient amounts. Farmers should not panic or hunting to rumors. Anyone who is fond of stacking or black marketing will face a strict action.” He said.
Former Prime Minister Akhilesh Yadav’ın claiming to be a shortage of fertilizer in the state returned to the last statements, “According to the needs of farmers’ fertilizer we do everything.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath called farmers to buy fertilizers only according to my requirement and made sure that there were enough materials.
He also directed all regions to establish a complaint cell to solve the complaints of farmers.
The Prime Minister also warned the regional officials against the excessive pricing and land -marketing of the fertilizers that lead to regular inspections, to remain in direct contact with farmers and to provide trouble -free distribution.
