A Colorado woman accused of killing her two young children during a custody dispute in December 2023 has been extradited from the United Kingdom to the United States to face murder charges, authorities said Tuesday.
Colorado authorities said 37-year-old Kimberlee Singler was arrested in England on Dec. 30, 2023, after police said she drugged and killed her 9-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son and injured her 11-year-old daughter before fleeing abroad.
Colorado District Attorney Michael Allen confirmed at a news conference that Singler will make his first court appearance in the coming days on charges including two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of first-degree murder, calling the development a “momentous day.”
Singler told police that a man entered the apartment and committed the violent acts, and that investigators initially treated Singler as a victim.

Authorities said Singler’s daughter initially confirmed her version of events but later changed her story.
When police later tried to arrest Singler, he was gone. Authorities eventually found him in an upscale district of London.
Colorado Springs Police Chief Adrian Vasquez called the extradition a “major turning point” in the case, noting that Singler was accused of committing “unthinkable” behavior.

“Such horrific crimes are truly heartbreaking,” he said. “They’re just so sad. No one, especially a child, should have to go through something like this.”
During a crime scene investigation in December 2023, Colorado authorities found spent bullets, a bloody knife and empty sleeping pill bottles in a trash can.
Police found two dead children in bed together.
At the time of the crime, Colorado Springs police said they received a 911 call reporting a burglary from Singler’s address, but investigators later said the evidence did not support a burglary.
Both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Colorado Springs police traveled to London to capture Singler, who opposed extradition and denied harming his children.

In January 2025, a judge in the UK ruled that Singler could be extradited to the US for trial, and his appeal was rejected last month.
His lawyer opposed extradition, saying that if Singler were convicted of first-degree murder in Colorado, he would face a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole, which would violate European human rights law.
