TCS CEO Krithivasan earns over ₹28 crore in FY26, still behind top IT CEOs: Here’s what his peers got

K Krithivasan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), total ₹28 crore in FY26, according to the company’s latest annual report.

The pay details emerged alongside wider debate over employees’ pay revisions after some TCS employees claimed their monthly salaries had fallen following the review-linked restructuring.

TCS CEO pay package: Basic details

The salary structure of the TCS CEO was heavily based on performance-based compensation. The FY26 package included: ₹1.67 crore in base salary, ₹1.43 crore in terms of benefits, allowances and privileges and almost ₹25 crore commission, making variable payments the largest component of his earnings.

The annual report also highlighted the pay gap between TCS leaders and employees. Krithivasan’s compensation was approximately 333 times the average employee salary at the company.

On the contrary ₹28 crore, a sizeable pay package by corporate standards, puts Krithivasan in the middle of the country’s IT CEO pay rankings, behind HCLTech, Infosys, Wipro and Tech Mahindra, when compared to India’s leading tech companies.

Let’s take a look at some of the salary packages of Krithivasan’s colleagues:

HCL Tech CEO C Vijayakumar continues to hold the top spot as the highest-paid executive among the country’s top tech companies. won in FY25 ₹94.6 crore, which was significantly ahead of its counterparts at rival firms. Wipro CEO Srinivas Pallia and Tech Mahindra CEO Mohit Joshi each earn roughly ₹54 crore in FY25.

Infosys CEO Salil Parekh, in FY25 ₹80.62 crore, recorded as one of the largest known salary increases among Indian IT leaders. Parekh’s compensation in Year 23 was: ₹56.5 crore, marking a significant increase in two years.

Debashis Chatterjee, former CEO of LTIMindtree, also saw a sharp increase in his salary; ₹17 crore ₹32.5 crore in two years.

Compared to other industry leaders, Krithivasan’s salary looks modest despite leading India’s largest IT services company in terms of revenue and workforce size.

CEO pay inequality continues to rise

Disclosures in the annual report highlighted that executive salaries in the country’s IT sector continue their upward trend, although the gap between leadership and employee salaries has widened significantly. Industry estimates suggest CEOs of six major IT companies are almost back home together ₹340 crore in FY25.

Wage inequality has also become more pronounced within individual firms. At Infosys, the CEO’s salary was 750 times higher than the average employee salary, while at Tech Mahindra, the figure rose to over 840 times.
