Euro 2025: Pubs reveal expected boost to economy from tournament

According to a leading trade organization, UK pubs foresee a significant economic increase this summer, and UEFA women are expected to sell millions of additional Pints.

The British beer and PUB Association (BBPA) predict that pubs can withdraw extra 2.6 million pints during the tournament.

The estimation is based on an expected increase in beer sales during the matches compared to the annual daily average.

The tournament starts in Switzerland on July 2, and the UK’s lions and Wales play the opening fixtures on July 5th.

Pubs that increase the potential tradition further may also be given long -term opening times if the UK or Wales progresses to the final stages of the competition.

BBPA, who prepared 90 percent of the British beer and has about half of the UK PUBs, said that it could provide £ 13 million support to the economy.

In addition, if any of the two countries reach the semifinals or finals of the Euro, which will take place towards the end of July, the bars may be allowed to remain open beyond their normal closing times.

BBPA’s General Manager Emma McClarkin said: “Pub was accepted as a home for sports fans, especially for sports fans, so it is not surprising that fans flocked to Pub to cheer our bright teams.”

However, Mrs. McClarkin renewed the government’s call to “straightening the playground and reducing beer mission, and paid the fourth highest tax rate compared to other countries competing in the UK and Wales tournament.

Alcohol tax is paid by the producers when they make their products and the task is usually transferred to consumers at prices.

The task on the draft pints was cut by 1.7 percent in the early hours of the year – which means a penny in pub on pub.
