Pep Guardiola: Manchester City manager says players ‘incredibly disciplined’ to meet club standards

City can go top of the Premier League if they win at Forest; Leader Arsenal will host Brighton on Saturday (15:00)
“I’d rather be 10 points ahead of everyone else but that’s the situation. It’s going really well but we’re there,” Guardiola said.
“We’re still at the end of December, we’re up in the Champions League, we’re up in the Premier League, we’re in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, the start of the FA Cup is around the corner.”
The City manager also said “anything can happen” in the January transfer window and the club are in advanced talks to sign Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo.
“When I started last season, I never expected to enter the transfer window with four or five players because we have 25 injured and unavailable players,” Guardiola said.
“It’s open and anything can happen.”
City are without defender John Stones and winger Jeremy Doku due to injury, while Guardiola said midfielder Rodri is “much, much better” having recovered from a hamstring problem and could be assessed before Saturday’s game.
