Politics LIVE: Nigel Farage vows to smash ‘political establishment’ | Politics | News

Nigel Farage told GB News that European leaders are now “apologizing” for “destroying your cities” by encouraging record levels of immigration.
He said: “Governments, not just in Britain but throughout the rest of Europe, are in absolute panic. They have pursued open-door immigration policies, some of which, like Sweden, have gone to absolutely insane levels.”
“And of course, if you remember, much of this was encouraged by then-German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
“What European leaders are saying now is: We’re sorry for destroying your cities and ruining your lives. We’re going to do something about it now. It seems the British Labor government is on the same track.”
“David Lammy went to Strasbourg today to talk about the European Convention on Human Rights and its interpretation by the court in that city. At the heart of this is Article Three of the Convention, which provides for sending people back to countries where they may be tortured.”
“Perhaps more controversial is Article Eight, which is the right to family life. And we know that British judges say the man has a cat, he should keep it.”
“In terms of how much this could change and change, my understanding is that 27 countries were in favor of a change in interpretation, but 18 countries were not.
“This has no place today. Fundamentally, governments in Europe are afraid of new centre-right parties. That’s what it’s all about.”
“Isn’t this a bit like the debates in the EU: every government since 1974 has promised at every election to reform the Common Agricultural Policy, but they never did.
“The logic behind this is that if this cannot be reformed, we have to decide whether to stay or leave.”
