Police told Fox News the man was found at a hotel in Coventry, about 17 miles south of Providence.
Providence Police Chief Col. Oscar L. Perez Jr. declined to say whether the person had ties to Brown University when asked by reporters at a news conference, citing the early stages of the investigation.
He said the ministry’s next process is to coordinate with prosecutors, collect evidence and hold interviews.
