Trump Media to launch paid Truth Social feed for Wall Street, banks and trading firms

US President Donald Trump’s Trump Media and Technology Group announced that it will announce licensed, paid data streaming so that banks and commercial firms can have the “fastest” access to the shares of influential people on the Truth Social platform.
The main account is that of the US President, who is usually the first to post about major decisions on the platform; this is a move that generally tends to move global markets.
Called the ‘Truth API’, the product will feed Wall Street with posts from the 10 most influential accounts much faster than a normal push notification would deliver to a non-paying user. Reuters.
According to a statement made by the company, the feed is designed for organizations “most affected by the cost of information latency,” such as algorithmic trading firms.
The statement also states, “Until now… companies that prioritize monitoring influential Truth posts have relied on manual monitoring. Truth API closes the gap.”
“Markets are already shifting towards Truth Social shares… As adoption increases, we expect the Truth API to become a meaningful and ongoing source of revenue for the company,” TMTG’s interim CEO Kevin McGurn was quoted as saying by Reuters.
The move is the company’s first step towards data licensing, which opens up a new revenue stream for the company, which has been facing challenges growing its business in the face of strong competition from much larger social media companies such as Meta and X.
Posts that move the markets
A series of announcements were made by Trump through Truth Social that would have significant consequences. These include “Liberation Day” tariffs and trade restrictions on China; This makes the platform an important feed for traders, financial institutions and businesses.
On April 9, 2025, Wall Street’s major indexes rose sharply after Trump announced on Truth Social that he would pause most of his new tariffs for 90 days.
“To my knowledge, the only market-moving poster on Truth Social is Trump himself, and his posts are certainly moving the market,” said Mark Spiegel, managing member and portfolio manager at Stanphyl Capital Partners. Reuters.
The Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust owns approximately 114.75 million shares, or about 41% of all outstanding shares in TMTG, according to regulatory filings.
This foundation manages the US president’s investments and is overseen by his children.
Sen. Ron Wyden, the top Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, sharply criticized the move. He said it would financially benefit the Trump family and “make Wall Street traders rich,” Reuters reported.
