Tua Tagovailoa’s frustrations with the Miami Dolphins’ performance through week six of the 2025 NFL season began to mount following the 29-27 loss against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Tagovailoa said he was “shocked” by the recent losses and was asked how the team will avoid having a “wow” attitude in the next few games. He suggested other members of the team start doing their part and doing the little things.

“I think it starts with leadership helping to articulate that to the guys and then showing them what we expect from the guys,” he said. “We expect this. Do we receive this? Do we not understand this?
“We have guys showing up late to player-only meetings. They’re not showing up to player-only meetings. There’s a lot that goes into this. Do we have to mandate this? Don’t we have to mandate this? So we have to clean up a lot of that stuff. It starts with little things like that.”
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel was asked about Tagovailoa’s statement.

“Player-led meetings are extra things beyond what I requested,” McDaniel said. “We’ve been very responsible with me. It seems like there’s something in his mind regarding certain meetings he’s had with a few people that he’s trying to fix by communicating directly. I think that’s the only way to lead.”
“As far as where we’re at as a program, I think we’ve cleared the air on all of this and how we’re holding people accountable and what’s non-negotiable on all of this stuff. It obviously sends a message, but from my perspective, they’ve delivered on everything I’ve asked of the guys and so I’m sure whoever he talks to, they’ll convey that as someone who can communicate directly with his teammates.”
Tagovailoa was 21-of-32 with 205 passing yards, a touchdown pass to Darren Waller and three interceptions.
