Mysuru MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar on Saturday (November 15) rejected the Congress’ allegation of “vote theft”, stating that the charge has no merit and the party needs to introspect after its defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters after the opening of the Unity March, Mr Wadiyar said the Congress had failed to provide any concrete evidence to support its accusation and accused the Congress of misleading the people. “The allegations are nothing but election fraud,” he said.
The MP claimed that leaders of the BJP-JD(U)-led NDA alliance reached out to voters even in the remotest districts of Bihar during the campaign, but claimed that “Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was abroad” during the crucial elections.
Responding to a question on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s statements supporting the allegation of vote theft, the Chief Minister said he was merely reiterating the stand of the party leadership and insisted that the accusation had no significance.
Mr. Wadiyar said that the people of Bihar have given a clear mandate to the NDA for development.
