Just when you thought Christmas couldn’t get any more cheesy or purely commercial, along comes the Duchess of Sussex to remind us all what this time of year is REALLY about.

The Netflix trailer for the special festival edition of With Love, Meghan is here, and no clichés have been spared.

“I love the holiday season,” she gushes in that fake-smiling tone of hers, skipping through the Christmas trees to pick out the most comfortable, chic jeans-and-sweater look she likes.

“It’s about finding time to connect with the people we love,” he adds, leaning over to Prince Harry, who’s been spooning something out of his cereal bowl like a man who’s been playing Call of Duty in the basement for three days and has no idea why his kitchen is covered in powdered sugar, pine needles, and minor celebrities.

Regardless, our pet goddess (Nigella should really sue) is in full swing. Nothing can stop him now.

‘It’s about embracing traditions and making new ones,’ Meghan breathlessly tells us.

Along with the wreath and cookies, there are also snippets of the Duchess and her ‘friends’ laughing, gasping for air and literally palpitating at their own awesomeness before pulling a cracker and screaming with joy.

The truth is that their enthusiasm is contagious; just like a bad cold.

‘Being a stewardess or a host is about making people feel comfortable,’ says the woman whose ability to openly make people uncomfortable verges on legend.

‘It’s beautiful,’ says one of her friends, tennis star Naomi Osaka, a little nervously as she observes what appears to be a wreath made of broccoli and chopped radishes (don’t forget to put this on your Christmas list, kids).

‘Spring!’ says our landlady, like someone unwrapping Primark while waiting for Prada. ‘Let’s go crafting!’

The trailer was released shortly before Prince William and Princess Kate wowed the crowd at the Royal Variety Show.

‘It’s quite jolly here,’ he adds, more for instruction than actual entertainment, and the levity continues.

‘Let the festivities begin and embrace the special touches that bring you joy.’

Special touches like the lingering shot of three pots of As Ever jam (£27) at the end, so no one forgets. Perfect for grandpa’s Christmas morning toast; Archie and Lilibet won’t be seeing much of him this Christmas. Still, it’s the thought that matters.

Some people have pointed out that perhaps it’s not exactly a coincidence that this trailer was released on the same evening that the Prince and Princess of Wales took to the stage at the Royal Variety Show at the Royal Albert Hall.

I can’t even imagine what they are trying to imply.
