For those watching at home: The first train to pick up passengers from the Metro Tunnel will depart from Sunbury at 9.28 am.
It will enter the tunnel in South Kensington at around 10.06am and then arrive at the first Metro Tunnel station, Arden, in North Melbourne, departing at 10.09am.

The first train coming from the other direction leaves Pakenham East at 9.03am and will depart Anzac station at 10.12am, so the Sunbury train should claim some bragging rights as the first train to enter the tunnel.
It will depart from Arden, pass through four other new stations (Parkville, State Library, Town Hall and Anzac) and exit the tunnel at South Yarra at around 10.25am.
From there it will go all the way to Dandenong.
The next train departs Sunbury at 9.48am, covering the entirety of the new intercity line as far as East Pakenham; It’s a nearly two-hour, 100-kilometer journey.
