Canadian woman is found dead surrounded by dingoes on K’gari

A Canadian woman was found dead surrounded by dingoes on a popular tourist island off the southeast coast of Queensland.
The 19-year-old went swimming near the Maheno Shipwreck on K’gari (formerly Fraser Island) around 5am on Monday and his body was found an hour later at 6am.
Police Inspector Paul Algie said authorities were determining the cause of her death and two possibilities were being investigated.
‘We are currently investigating whether he was strangled or attacked. “We just don’t know,” he said.
Authorities will contact the woman’s family in Canada after the woman’s identity is confirmed at the consulate.
“We may not know the true cause of death until the autopsy,” Inspector Algie said.
‘We will of course use every resource we can to find a solution for his family.’
