CUET UG 2026: NTA allows students to change exam city, date & shift till May 7

Students can now apply for exam status, date and/or shift changes until May 7, 23:50. The move comes after many candidates, especially from Delhi, Haryana and Bihar, expressed serious concerns about high travel expenses, accommodation costs and logistical challenges.
Why Are Students Upset?
Many candidates reported being assigned to centers in completely different states despite choosing nearby cities.
For example, Delhi students have been allotted centers in Agra, Jaipur and Mohali. Many have multiple exam dates spread throughout May, making repeated interstate travel extremely challenging and expensive.
CUET Correction Window Details
Window Opening: 5 May – 7 May 2026 (23:50)
Basic: First come, first served, subject to slot availability
Those who make changes will be given revised entry cards.
Candidates who do not apply within the deadline will be required to be present at the center, date and shift allocated to them.
NTA’s Stand
The agency attributed the problem to large registrations (15.6 lakh candidates) and limited CBT testing center capacity.
It was stated that 79 percent of the candidates chose the city of their first choice, and 96.6 percent chose one of the cities they preferred.
This short correction window provides some relief to stressed students ahead of the CUET-UG 2026 exams starting on May 11.
