Liz McClarnon welcomed her first child with husband Peter Cho after years of ‘painful in vitro fertilization’ treatment.

The Atomic Kitten legend, 44, announced that he welcomed his son on Instagram on Sunday, sharing a selfie of him giving the thumbs up from his hospital bed.

He wrote the following note on the photo: ‘The little man came early. It started out a little scary, but everything worked out in the end.’

Liz dropped the news that she was pregnant in May, after struggling to get pregnant for two decades and turning to in vitro fertilization.

Liz and Peter met four years ago and began their IVF journey shortly after meeting. Unfortunately, they had three failed embryo cycles in 2023 and then two miscarriages the following year, but they finally got the happy news they wanted.

After her VT was played to the audience, Liz took to the stage to sit in on the panel and admitted: ‘That bit made me shed a bit of a tear then and there.’

Jane Moore wanted to know how far along she was in her pregnancy and asked: ‘Where are you now, what stage are you at?’

Liz said: ‘I’m only around five months. We know what we’re going through.. if you want to know? We are going to have a son!

‘We thought it might be a girl, we thought it might be a girl.’ He added: ‘There’s a lot of names going around in my head and I’m getting really excited.’

Earlier in the episode, Liz got emotional explaining why she was sad after seeing VT end. He said: ‘It was actually really difficult.

‘It’s weird because I talk about it, but hearing you talk about it in the third person is completely different for me, it made me sad, it was almost like someone else.

‘Whereas when you handle it yourself you’re like, ‘Oh, go ahead. You say, ‘Let’s do this.'”

Jane Moore wanted to know if they realized they would have fertility problems before trying to have a baby.

Liz explained: ‘This fact is why we went to the doctor to find out I was over 40 when we met. We thought, let’s see where we are, where we stand.’

She said they told her: ‘Everything seems fine, there is fluid around her ovaries, but let’s start some treatments.’

Liz and Peter, who married in 2023, announced their happy news via an emotional Instagram clip in May.

In the sweet clip, Liz could be seen sitting on a park bench before turning around and revealing her bump.

During the video, she said: ‘I was keeping a secret from you and mostly kept myself away from social media because sometimes it was hard to smile.

‘But after years of very painful IVF and dark times, I’m pregnant! We feel like we’ve been given the world.’

Liz captioned the post: ‘I started recording a video telling you all about this but I got too emotional so I thought I’d hide behind this little announcement instead.

‘I can’t believe we’re here. Many people have gone through exactly what I went through and worse. ❤️

‘I want to share what I can and add my voice and ears to those helping others understand or cope with everything that comes with IVF and loss after so much hope.

‘I’ve been part of some beautiful supportive communities. Much obliged.’

Her post was soon flooded with congratulations from her famous friends, including former Atomic Kitten bandmate Natasha Hamilton.

She wrote: ‘Literally couldn’t be happier for you both! After all you’ve been through, this little miracle is everything.’

Michelle Heaton said: ‘We are incredibly happy for you both. I know how bad the road was to get here… but look at you now… so happy xx love to all three of you xx.’

S Club 7 star Jo O’Meara wrote: ‘Wow this is so beautiful! Congratulations dear.’

The extremely private singer took to her stories to share two photos of her handsome husband, after his face was previously masked with confetti in the photo from their big day.

Alongside a photo of Peter in the sunshine, Liz wrote: ‘Guess what?! ‘I’ve been married to my perfect match for exactly one year, I love you Peter Cho!’

He later shared a memory from their wedding day as they posed together, with the bride looking stunning in her long-skirted dress with a Bardot neckline.

The pair embraced, with Peter looking dapper in a three-piece black suit and Liz adding: ‘Thank you for your lovely well wishes.’

They got married in the Lake District with guests Including Liz’s former bandmate Natasha Hamilton.

Announcing the news, he said: ‘A few days ago Peter and I got married surrounded by some people we love and care about (and our little Bean – our dog) and I wanted to share this beautiful picture from the day with you.

Liz was previously engaged to Blue singer Lee Ryan. The couple was together for two years before he popped the question in 2003.

Liz’s wedding comes a year after she shocked fans with a surprise engagement announcement as she wished her husband-to-be a happy birthday.

She shared a photo embracing her mysterious fiancee, surprising many of her friends who took notice of the comments.

While the man kept his identity secret, his large diamond engagement ring was visible.

She captioned the black and white photo: ‘Happy birthday to my future husband. YES! I’m going to marry the most beautiful person I know and today is her birthday. Double live!’

Liz was previously engaged to Blue singer Lee Ryan after dating for nearly two years before he popped the question in 2003.

They called off the romance shortly after, with Liz saying she wasn’t interested in dating a celebrity.

After Lee he had a long-term partner in Harlequins rugby star Ryan O’Neill. They were together from 2012 to 2014.

She said of potential motherhood shortly after the split: ‘I think I’ve been pretty strong about not having babies with the wrong people.

‘Some people think I have no chance, but I made a conscious decision not to have children with the people I was with.’
