Florence and the Machine partners with Planned Parenthood on tour

Rock band Florence + the Machine announced a partnership with Planned Parenthood to offer reproductive health advice during tour stops.

“Planned Parenthood health centers are a lifeline for millions of people, and they are being brutally attacked,” the band’s lead singer, Florence Welch, said in a statement Monday. “Access to a trusted provider is essential and also the difference between life and death. During this time when our rights are uncertain, I am proud to support Planned Parenthood and create space for people on my tour to connect with the care and information they need.”

Accordingly Billboard MagazinePlanned Parenthood will have branches and tables outside several concerts for the remainder of the band’s “Everybody Scream” tour.

Member organizations will be able to talk to concertgoers about reproductive health care starting at Wednesday night’s Minneapolis concert.

“Florence Welch has long used her platform to speak out about reproductive freedom and care, including bravely sharing her personal experience with pregnancy loss,” said Caren Spruch, Planned Parenthood National Director of Arts and Entertainment. “Her new album ‘Everybody Scream’ is a powerful testament to the importance of empowering everyone to make decisions about their own bodies.”

Fox News Digital has reached out to Florence + the Machine and Planned Parenthood for comment.

Florence + the Machine began their “Everybody Scream” tour in Europe on February 6. After a one-month break, the tour will continue from Wednesday night through August.

Welch previously suffered a miscarriage in 2023, which led to emergency, life-saving surgery that forced her to cancel two concerts.

She opened up about her miscarriage in her interview Guard In September, she revealed that she had an ectopic pregnancy after trying to get pregnant with her boyfriend.

“The closest I came to living was the closest I came to death,” Welch said. “And I felt like I stepped through this door and it was full of screaming women.”
