Where to get coffee in Perth on Christmas Day 2025

Picture this: It’s a classic WA Christmas morning and you need a coffee to get you ready for the day, but almost nowhere is open.

Whether you’re heading for a relaxing day at the beach or need a caffeine boost before the whole family arrives for a chaotic Christmas dinner, we’ve compiled a list of cafes around Perth that will be open on 25 December.

Little Loaf Lunch Bar – South Terrace, South Fremantle

This hole-in-the-wall institution in South Freo will be open from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Christmas Day. Just an eight-minute walk from South Beach, this area is perfect for punters to grab a coffee and head to the beach for an early morning swim in Chrissie Day.

Willing Coffee – Mt Lawley and Guildford

Takeaway coffee and croissants will be available at Willing Coffee’s two locations on Christmas morning. The cafe, which also includes a retail store, will be open from 6.30 to 11.30 in the morning.

Kinky Lizard – City, Bayswater, Maylands, Applecross, Mosman Park, Karrinyup, Stirling, Osbourne Park

Open regularly on 25 December, old faithful Kinky Lizard continues its tradition of being open on Christmas Day at various locations around Perth: there are four in the city area alone, so you won’t be lost for options.

Opening hours on Christmas Day and Boxing Day:

  • Adelaide Terrace – 7am-13pm
  • Hay St – 7:00-13:00
  • Barrack St – 7:00 – 13:00
  • Bayswater – 7am-13pm

  • El Greco by Kinky Lizard, Stirling – 07:00-13:00 (closed for dinner service on 25, 26, 27 December and 1, 2 and 3 January)

The Welshpool store will be closed.

Folk and Merchant – Herbert Street, Doubleview

Folk and Merchant will be open on the 25th with a variety of healthy breakfast and lunch options to get your day off to a good start before grabbing your own Christmas dinner. The bright and airy Doubleview cafe will be open from 7am to 12pm.

French Riviera Patisserie – Brookmount Drive, Ellenbrook

For coffee enthusiasts north of the river, the French Riviera will be open for takeaway coffee and Danish pastries only on Christmas Day. Opening hours are from 8am to 12pm so you can grab your little sweet treat before the festivities begin.

Ol’ Float – Marine Parade, Cottesloe

Another Christmas Day standout, Ol’ Buoy in Cottesloe will be open from 6am to 11pm on the 25th. The coffee bar is literally on the beach, so it will be perfect for an early morning swim and caffeine fix, especially as temperatures are predicted to reach 38C.

3.8 Baysie – Beechboro Road, Bayswater

You won’t even get an extra charge from 3.8 Baysie on Christmas morning; They’ll be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. for takeout, baked goods, sandwiches and other Chrissie treats. You can even pick up pre-ordered pie slices on a first-come, first-served basis.

Caffeinated Coffee Company – Everglades Boulevard, Brabham

Swan Valley’s early birds can get their coffee on Chrissie’s morning – Caffeinate Coffee Co will be open from 5am to 11pm. Their Instagram shows off a wide variety of delectable desserts, including acai bowls, baked goods, and even Christmas cookies for Santa.

Some cafes may add a public holiday charge to your coffee order.
