Investigators converge on residence near Nancy Guthrie’s home

Tucson: Law enforcement investigating his disappearance Today show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother blocked a road and met late Friday night (Tucson time) at a residence in an affluent neighborhood near Nancy Guthrie’s home in Arizona.
A parade of sheriff’s and FBI vehicles, including forensic vehicles, passed through the roadblock set up about two miles from the home.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Saturday that a federal court-ordered search warrant was executed Friday at a home in connection with the Guthrie case. The search warrant was based on a tip the agency received. No arrests were made.
CNN reported that the roads reopened about four hours later.
The two agencies also tagged and towed a Range Rover SUV from the nearby Culver’s restaurant parking lot.
The sheriff’s office also said a traffic stop was conducted and while someone was being questioned, no arrests were made.
No additional information was released Saturday.
Guthrie, 84, was reported missing on February 1. His blood was found on the front porch of his Tucson-area home, authorities said. Supposedly ransom notes were sent to news outlets, but two deadlines for payment have passed.
On Friday, the sheriff’s office said DNA from people other than Guthrie or “those who came into close contact with him” was also collected from his property and that investigators were “working to determine who it belonged to.”
Authorities expressed concerns about Guthrie’s health, as he required daily medication. He is said to have a pacemaker and deals with high blood pressure and heart problems, according to an audio recording of a sheriff’s officer on Broadify.com.
Investigators reviewed surveillance video, sorted through thousands of clues and submitted DNA and other evidence for laboratory analysis.
The FBI said it collected more than 13,000 tips after Guthrie was reported missing. Meanwhile, the sheriff’s department said it received at least 18,000 calls.
On Tuesday, authorities released footage showing an armed, masked man standing outside Guthrie’s door the night he was abducted. The videos, less than a minute in total length, gave investigators and the public their first glimpse of who was outside Guthrie’s home in the hills outside Tucson.
